Working together for fleet electrification: Federal Association and SMART/LAB are new partners
Berlin/Aachen. The Bundesverband Taxi und Mietwagen e.V. and SMART/LAB Innovationsgesellschaft mbH have decided to cooperate - as of today, SMART/LAB is a partner of the taxi umbrella organisation. The two organisations are united by the implementation of the drive turnaround, as this is one of the three objectives of the federal association - in addition to securing the provision of services of general interest via the trade in urban and rural areas. The IT service provider SMART/LAB from Aachen develops comprehensive products and concepts for the operation and billing of charging infrastructure as well as the billing of end users. SMART/LAB has been driving the topic of fleet electrification for 15 years and is one of the most important players in Europe.
SMART/LAB is a unique network consisting of energy suppliers, business and roaming partners throughout Europe. The company unites the three brands ladebusiness, ladenetz.de and charging port. While ladebusiness is aimed at B2B customers (e.g. car dealerships, hospitals, hotels, supermarkets, housing construction, etc.), the ladenetz.de team supports energy suppliers and local authorities throughout Germany. The new ladeport network enables shore-side power supply for ships and connects inland ports with each other.
"Depending on the partner, our services include pricing, billing, services and the operation of the charging infrastructure." is how Managing Director Dr Mark Steffen Walcher describes his company's product portfolio and addsWe currently network 220 ladebusiness and 275 ladenetz.de partners and have a total of 480,000 charging points in Europe. With the partnership in the German Taxi and Rental Car Association, we are contributing our expertise to the industry in a targeted manner in order to jointly develop solutions for the transition to electromobility - and at the same time gain valuable practical experience from the taxi and rental car sector."
Dr Walcher made his first appearance at this year's German Taxi and Rental Car Day in Erfurt, where he took part as a speaker in a panel discussion on the topic of "Fleet Electrification". Meanwhile, his team had a stand in the large meeting zone to inform trade representatives about the ladebusiness product portfolio.
Michael Oppermann, Managing Director of Bundesverband Taxi und Mietwagen e. V., who is personally committed to the topic of electromobility, on the new partnership: "We welcome any partner who comes from the field of e-mobility and pushes it, as this is an important topic for the future. Germany has a lot of catching up to do in terms of charging infrastructure and the processes behind it - together with SMART/LAB, we will endeavour to bring this topic further into the industry and anchor it there."
