ladenetz.de skips the number of 200 municipal utilities. At the same time, the number of own charging points doubles to over 5.000 within one year.
Aachen. The municipal utility network ladenetz.de continues to grow faster than the market in 2019. With currently more than 5,000 charging points, every fourth public charging point is now directly part of the ladenetz.de platform. This gives ladenetz.de a market share of over 25% at the public charging points. In addition to the ladenetz.de members gained in 2019, Albwerke as a group of five and ESB Südbayern as a group of three new partners have joined the network. ladenetz.de is an association of municipal utility partners who jointly develop and network charging infrastructure. Local energy suppliers can join the association and thus become part of a Germany-wide network.
One municipal utility, one card - many possibilities
As the number of partners continues to grow, so does the available charging infrastructure. The number of charging points in the network increased by more than 100 per cent again last year. The partners already operate a total of around 5,200 charging points. Customers of the municipal utilities can conveniently charge their vehicles anywhere with one and the same card. The contact for billing always remains the local municipal utility. In addition, around 30,000 further charging points are being added across Europe, which customers can also use thanks to existing roaming partnerships with other charging infrastructure providers.
New products for municipal utilities
In addition to pure charging, innovative products from smartlab enable a holistic electromobility offering for municipal utility customers. This is because the smartlab charging point management system offers everything from a single source. This includes various authorisation media as well as tried-and-tested concepts for consulting, service and billing. "We are very happy that we have become the leading provider of charging in the public sector in Germany. Now it's all about maintaining this position. We will therefore continue to systematically expand our product portfolio this year. For example, the e-mobility card will be expanded to include further important mobility functionalities," says Managing Director Mark Steffen Walcher.
