How do I get access to the charging stations of the ladenetz.de network?

If you have a charging card from the ladenetz.de network, simply hold it up to the charging station to gain access.
The same applies if you have a charging card from one of our external roaming partners. You can check on the lademap whether a station is operated by one of our roaming partners – these are marked with a diamond symbol. If you do not have a valid RFID card or chip/coin, you can also select the desired station via our ladeapp or lademap and start your charging session without registration.

Who can I contact if a charging station in the ladenetz.de network is not working?

The charging stations in the ladenetz.de network display the phone number of the service hotline of the respective operator. This operator is responsible for maintaining the charging station. Please understand that, as an IT service provider, we cannot have technicians available on-site throughout Germany. Before reporting the malfunction, we kindly ask you to try charging again at the second charging point. It is possible that only one of the charging points is affected. In any case, please report the issue to the operator’s service hotline and provide the number of the affected charging point. This will help ensure that assistance can be provided as quickly as possible and the station status can be updated.

Can I also charge at ladenetz.de charging stations with an access card from providers that are not part of the ladenetz.de network?

Yes, thanks to our extensive roaming agreements with many charging station providers, we have already established a wide network of charging options for our customers. Our lademap provides a quick overview of all available charging stations. The specific conditions and access options of your card depend on the terms and conditions agreed with your provider. Therefore, please contact your card issuer directly for more information.

Does my car charge with green electricity at the charging stations?

An electric car can only fully utilise all its advantages with electricity generated from renewable sources! You can find out the exact composition of the electricity mix from the partner who operates the respective charging station.

What power can I charge with at the charging stations?

The power output of the charging stations varies from station to station and can also fluctuate. You can find details about the desired charging station in the lademap and ladeapp of ladenetz.de. Additionally, the charging power depends on the vehicle model, the charging cable, and whether multiple electric cars are being charged simultaneously. In the latter case, the maximum available power is shared, which results in longer charging times. lademap and ladeapp of ladenetz.de you can call up details of the desired charging station.

Where can I
charge with the charging card/chip?

With the charging card/chip, you can charge at all charging stations in the ladenetz.de network. There are also roaming cooperations with other charging infrastructure providers.

This allows partners to offer their customers access to public charging points belonging to other charging station operators. Please contact your provider directly to find out which charging infrastructure networksare accessible with your charging card. Or simply take a look at our charging map.

How can I
charge with the charging card/chip?

1/ First plug the charging cable into your vehicle.
2/ Then plug the charging cable into the charging station. If the charge point needs to be unlocked first, simply hold your charging card/chip up to the reader station's reader.
3/ If you did not have to unlock the charging station earlier, now hold the charging card/chip up to the reader.
4/ The charging process starts automatically.

How do I end the charging process at the charging station?

The charging process ends when you hold the charging card/chip up to the charging station's reader again. To prevent theft and vandalism, the charging cable can only be removed from the charging station after the process has been stopped. Alternatively, you can also end the charging process by unplugging the cable from your vehicle.

Where can I order a charging card/chip?

You can purchase the charging card/chip from our energy suppliers/business partners or from us. Simply go to the "Partners" section and look for your postcode to find the right provider in your area. If you already have an access card/chip for charging stations, check with your provider whether they have a roaming agreement with ladenetz.de or take a look here.

With the charging app, you can both get an overview of available charging stations near you and start a charging session without a charging card or registration. All you need is a credit card. How do I register in the ladeapp?

No registration is required in the charging app, as itprovides barrier-free access for all ad hoc customers who do not have a charging card/chip from ladenetz.de.

How can I pay with the charging app?

You can pay by credit card in the charging app. To do this, follow the instructions in the app after selecting your desired charging point.

How much is the fish?

Each of our partners sets their own tariff for ad hoc charging with the charging app. The respective tariff is displayed in the app before you start a charging process.

How can I see which charging points are occupied?

  • In the charging app, all charging points that belong to the ladenetz.de network are marked with a green dot. Charging stations from roaming partners are additionally marked with an "R" and blue colour (these cannot be activated via the app).
  • After selecting a charging station, you can see the status of the charging points by their color coding. Green indicates that the charging point is available, while red shows that it is occupied.
  • To display only available charging points automatically, click on the filter icon at the top right and move the slider under Availability to “Only free” by sliding it to the green position.
  • You also have the option to hide roaming points by moving the slider under "ladenetz roaming points" to the left to the grey position in the filter menu under Roaming

    How do I start the charging session when using the charging app?

    1/ Select the charging station and the desired charging point (see identification by EVSE-ID) in the app. Note: Charging stations often have two charging points.
    2/ Plug the charging cable into your vehicle.
    3/ Try to plug the charging cable into the charging station. If the charging point needs to be unlocked first, do this by pressing "Start" in the app. Then follow the instructions in the app. After entering all the required data and confirming the terms and conditions regarding data protection and the reservation fee, the charging point will be unlocked.
    4/ If you did not have to unlock the charging station, please follow the steps in the app described in the previous point 3.
    5/ The charging session starts automatically.

    How do I end the charging session when using the charging app?

    After starting, you will receive an e-mail with a link to stop the charging session. Alternatively, you can end the charging session by unplugging the cable from your vehicle.

    Why am I being debited €50 plus €0.25 from my credit card when starting a charging session?

    You can pay by credit card in the charging app. To do this, follow the instructions in the app after selecting your desired charging point.

    How do I receive my invoice?

    You will receive your invoice as a PDF file by email after a successful charging session. The invoice will be addressed to you.

    Where can I find the applicable charging rates?

    You can easily find your desired charging station via our our lademap and ladeapp. The detailed view provides relevant information about each station, such as the operator, ad-hoc tariff, plug types, opening hours, and status (available/occupied). Note: If you have a charging card and use it to charge, the rate that applies at ladenetz.de network stations is always the one contractually agreed upon with your card provider.

    What does roaming mean?

    Thanks to roaming agreements, charging options for customers of ladenetz.de energy supply partners and business partners are continuously expanding. Through these collaborations, partners can offer their customers access to public charging points from other networks. In addition to the cooperation between ladenetz.de and ladebusiness.de, further partnerships exist at both national and European levels. You can check on the lademap whether a station is operated by one of our roaming partners. These stations are marked with a diamond symbol.

    What are charging stations?

    An electric vehicle charging station refers to a charge point that enables the battery of an EV to be recharged. The charging infrastructure allows for charging at various locations – for example, at home using a wallbox, at the workplace with charging pillars, or in public spaces at rapid charging stations. Access to the charging point or station is granted via the ladeapp or the charging card provided by your local operator.

    Who owns the charging stations in the ladenetz.de network?

    The charging stations are installed by the ladenetz.de partners and are generally their property. Through the IT system lisy2, partners can operate and manage their charging stations efficiently. If you are an EV driver and have any questions regarding the charging stations, please contact the respective charging station operator directly (see Partners).

    How can charging points be designed?

    Partners can customise their charging stations to match their own corporate design, for example by applying a vinyl wrap. However, the ladenetz.de logo or the ladenetz.de Business Partner logo must be displayed on every charging station as an identifying mark. Additionally, a service phone number of the charging station operator must be clearly visible to ensure quick access for EV drivers in case of a malfunction.

    Can I buy charging stations from SMART/LAB?

    No, SMART/LAB does not sell charging systems for electric vehicles; however, it advises its partners on selecting suitable hardware and facilitates the provision of charging systems from various manufacturers. Network partners benefit from exclusive terms and conditions.

    Which charging stations are available in the SMART/LAB network

    In principle, any charging station that supports the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) can be connected and operated using the IT system lisy2. Nevertheless, SMART/LAB works closely with selected hardware manufacturers to meet customer requirements and ensure the quality of integration. To this end, we have developed a certification test for manufacturers (ladenetz.de Ready / ladenetz.de Ready Plus). Please feel free to contact us regarding this matter here.

    What is the ladebox?

    The ladebox is a charging station designed for pedelec batteries. The cylindrical unit features three compartments, each equipped with two sockets, allowing you or your customers to charge batteries protected from the rain. Thanks to the body made of stainless steel sheets and a door secured with a combination lock, your battery is optimally protected. The compartments are generously sized, providing enough space for a bicycle helmet or backpack as well. With its large surface area, the ladebox can also serve as an attractive advertising space, making it an ideal addition to your charging infrastructure offering along cycle paths or in the vicinity of restaurants and hotels.
